Church communication is tough. The job demands a lot, and too often you’re trying to discover best practices on your own. Sometimes the best thing you can do is connect with folks like you at a church communication event.
These events can be a powerful shot in the arm:
- Learn best practices.
- Be inspired.
- Find your people.
Sometimes you just need to rethink communication, and that happens best when you can bounce ideas off someone who’s been in the trenches. So consider attending a church communication event this year and get to know some fellow strugglers, take your skills up a notch, and be reenergized.

Our Courageous Storytellers membership site is for church communicators looking for help. We love giving our members a leg up, and attending an event is a great way to do just that.
Creative Missions
If you’re looking for something more this year, you should check out Creative Missions. It’s not a conference, it’s a missions trip. You’ll put your skills to work helping local churches communicate better.
Learn more about how it changed one person’s life.
Local Meetups
If a church comm event sound great but there’s no way you cold afford it, consider local meetups. It’s a way to connect with local church communicators. You’ll probably get more coffee and commiseration than keynotes and classes, but that’s helpful too.
If there’s not an active meetup in your area (which is the case in most places), start your own. Where two or three are gathered, right?
Digital Meetups
Not everybody has the time, money, or energy to travel. But there are a lot of digital communities where you can make connections and learn new stuff:
- Courageous Storytellers (for members only; join now)
- Church Communications
- Church Communication Strategies
- Church Social Media Managers
- Small Church Communication
- Large Church Communication
That’s just a start. Search for more and get connected. And be sure to make the most of these online groups.
And there are lots more online communities. Search for one where you can find the connection you need.
