Top CFCC News of 2011

We’ve been busy this year as an organization and there are some highlights worth remembering. As you probably know, our nonprofit parent is the Center for Church Communication and we do a lot more than just blog. Here’s a look back at what we’ve been up to in 2011:

  • Creative Missions – One our proudest accomplishments this past year is something we didn’t even do. We just helped make it happen. Cleve Persinger and the crew at Creative Missions set up and led a missions trip for creatives. It’s an awesome idea and they’re doing it again in 2012. Consider joining or supporting Creative Missions in 2012.
  • Outspoken – Since the early days we’ve talked about publishing a book and in 2011 it finally happened. Once again, it was with a lot of help. We had more than 60 church communication pros contribute chapters and we released the book this fall. We’ve had an overwhelming response. If you haven’t check it out yet, read a sample chapter, check out some snippets, see what others are saying and grab your own copy of Outspoken: Conversations on Church Communication. And do check out the best photo of a proud Outspoken owner.
  • CFCC Meetups – Throughout 2011 we had a number of CFCC Meetups piggybacking on major church communication events. We had a lot of fun connecting with people in real life and hope to continue the tradition.
  • New Leadership – We had some leadership and team changes in 2011. It’s always hard to see people go, but we are excited to get fresh blood as we help churches tell their story.
