Remember that throwdown last month about gender diversity at Christian conferences? Rachel Held Evans, author of A Year of Biblical Womanhood, pointed out that the Nines conference had more than 100 speakers and only four were women. Oops.
So Rachel created a list of 101 Christian women speakers.
She’s got loads of qualifiers about what the list is for (a starting point) and not for (finding token women speakers). It’s a great list, which was created with the help of our own Katie Strandlund (woot, woot).
Honestly, forget the gender diversity issue. I think this is just a humbling list of amazing people doing some incredible work. If you want to find and read those stories, be inspired by fellow Christians doing cool things, check out the list.
Lots of rock stars featured including Bianca Juarez Olthoff who contributed to Outspoken, Anne Marie Miller (formerly Jackson) who wrote Mad Church Disease and wrote for us back in the day, and Addie Zierman who wrote the memoir I keep pitching, When We Were On Fire. And 98 other women (plus loads more in the comments), many I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never heard of. Time for that to change.

Glad to have you back. I just happened to see one of your email newsletters and finally clicked on it, wondering who “Anne Marie Miller” was. Then a few days later I saw you on Rachel’s list. Nice timing.
