There has been some creative and strategic talk on the Church Marketing Lab discussion board this past week, but one thread won for most touching:
In a thread called “Handing over the ship” Michael Buckingham, our longtime board manager ‘and friend announced that he will be handing off his board duties to Danielle Hartland.
“We’ve seen some bumps, I have a few war wounds but I have been honored to be a part of this community for the past 4+ years since its inception.
I continue to be impressed by the community and the members progression in their art. While I’m not steering this boat anymore you’ll still see me around and I will always remain available to the artist as they continue to sharpen their craft. You are a beautiful gift to the bride of Christ, the church.”
I encourage you to read the whole thread, and give Michael a thank you for all of his hard work. We are definitely going to miss him.
Onto other board news…
- For the graphic designers, new posts include how to distress in Illustrator, a brainstorm of ideas for a youth missions T-shirt, and a question if people would be interested in doing design missions year-round.
- There is also an interesting strategy question to weigh in on about how much information to put on a promo piece.
- And the fun “You know you are in church communication if…” was revived and got some new responses (you may remember the polished PDF we created based on this thread a few years ago).
