How to Be More Productive as a Church Communicator

How to Be More Productive as a Church Communicator

October 16, 2019 by

I’ve always been suspicious of these productivity gurus who talk about inbox zero, scheduling everything, and a four-hour workweek. I don’t have time for that kind of craziness.

Until I got crazy busy.

I had so many projects coming in I wasn’t sure how to get it all done. Working more hours wasn’t going to solve it—I had to be more efficient.

Time to start listening to that productivity advice.

“We get stuck in the weeds, racing to get lots of things done rather than asking whether they are the right things to do.” -Tony Crabbe

I did some reading and came away with some helpful tips. I started implementing those ideas— out of manic necessity—and they actually worked. (One of the most helpful resources was the book Busy: How to Thrive in a World of Too Much by Tony Crabbe.) You don’t have time to read a book, so let me summarize my most effective productivity tips for you in this free guide.

The tips fall in four specific areas:

  1. Stop the distractions.
  2. Change how you work.
  3. Choose the right projects.
  4. Take care of yourself.
