Easter Effort: Resurrection Painting

What’s your favorite part about celebrating Easter at your church?

We are located about a mile from Forest Park, one of the largest urban parks in the country, and home to the world-renown St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum, the St. Louis Science Center, and the Muny, America’s oldest and largest outdoor musical theater. We host a sunrise service at the World’s Fair Pavilion in the park, and it’s always beautiful experience.

Share one cool way your church is spreading the word about Easter this year:

This year, we tried something different. Instead of simply inviting people to our worship services, we created a video which talks about the meaning of the resurrection. Our comm team is blessed with the talents of a local seminary student who is also an artist, and he created a stop-motion video using oil paints.

How do you keep your focus on the joy of Easter amid the stress of looming deadlines and long hours?

This year I moved all my deadlines up as much as I could. It’s not fool-proof, but I know these last few days will be a bit lighter because of it.
