Earlier this month we talked about the importance of fighting holiday stress and showing your appreciation to your team. Christmas is only a few days away, but it’s not too late to grab some last minute gifts. Grab a gift card for your pastor, a book for your assistant or a some new music for your volunteer.
And do it all digitally because we know you’re too busy to fight the crowd.
Here are a few ideas:
- CFCC Ebook Bundle: Of course we’re going to pitch our own books first, but at least we’re saving you money. Grab all three of our ebooks—Outspoken, Dangerous and Church Communication Heroes Volume 1—in one convenient digital bundle and save $3. You can also grab a multi-copy pack for your entire team (saves money for groups of 7 or more).
- Social Media: Share some social media wisdom and grab a trio of books, including The Social Media Gospel by Meredith Gould (read our review), Social Media Guide for Ministry by Nils Smith (read our review) and pre-order The Social Church: A Theology of Digital Communication the new book from our former executive director Justin Wise that releases on Feb. 1, 2014.
- Oldies But Goodies: Grab some “classics” of church communication, including 2006’s Church Marketing 101 by Richard Reising (read our review) or 2008’s The Word Made Fresh by Meredith Gould (read our review) or 2009’s Less Clutter. Less Noise. by Kem Meyer (read our review).
- For the Artist: If you’ve got an artist on your team, consider Life After Art by Matt Appling (read our review), Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon (read our review) or Pursuing Christ. Creating Art. by Gary Molander (read our review).
- Fiction: You could even get them a book that has nothing to do with church communication. The Martian by Andy Weir is one of my favorites. It doesn’t come out until February, but pre-order it now.
- Listen: Music is another great digital option. This year I’ve been enjoying All Sons & Daughters, the reunited Five Iron Frenzy, and The Vespers. Or since buying music is for old people, you could go with a Spotify subscription.
If you’re not sure what to get, gift cards are always safe. Show your appreciation but let them pick their own gift. Not everybody likes bath soaps.
The important thing is to give. Merry Christmas!
