Christmas Videos: Substance Church

Christmas Videos: Substance Church

December 19, 2014 by

In anticipation for Christmas, we’ve been sharing a few videos to inspire and encourage during the holidays.

The final video in our series is a little different from the others. It’s a music video brought to us by Substance Church in Minneapolis, from their 2013 Christmas series.

You’ll just have to see it for yourself:

The video features some rave-like lighting, Christmas rapping, break dancing silhouettes and yes, even yodeling.

Yodeling? Yes.

This demonstrates a unique approach to Christmas. It’s perhaps the antithesis of our theory that people like traditional Christmas. Some churches sing classic carols; some churches yodel.

And we should embrace these differences. We all worship the same God, even if we worship in drastically different ways.

I think William Booth who founded The Salvation Army would like the creative approach. If you can’t get and hold people’s attention, they won’t notice the message! This definitely gets your attention.
