Hangout Notes:
- Learn more about the 10th anniversary of Church Marketing Sucks.
- Check out the ‘Does church marketing still suck?’ conversations.
- Enter to win a T-shirt.
- Grab YouTube for Churches for 99 cents & enter this week’s giveaway: What has Church Marketing Sucks meant to you?
- All Church Marketing Sucks ebooks are on sale, including individual Getting Started series ebooks for 99 cents.
- Rest & Burnout: We talked about the importance of rest and fighting burnout. We started a whole new Personal Care category to cover that topic, and one great post to look at is how to recharge your soul. The author of that post also has a great comment for church communicators who are weary.
- Power to the Pews: We did an entire series back in 2012 about empowering your congregation to do marketing.
- Relationships First: Another theme was the importance of putting people first. Focus on relationships instead of agenda. That theme comes up a lot in our Getting Started ebook series.
- Culture Shapers: Chuck talks more about the need for marketing to drive ministry.
- Millenials: Just recently we talked about the lesson that there’s no one right way to do church, which came from 20sChurch, a trio of twenty-somethings that’s traveling the country to see how churches are reaching millenials. We’re hoping to have a guest post from them next month.

Woohoo! Happy birthday everyone! Church Communications has changed a ton — and a lot is attributed to what you all have done. (raise my PepsiMax) Here’s to another decade! CFCC rocks!

Thanks guys. Great stuff. Took a ton of notes. Plenty of thoughts to ponder, and so many opportunities for the future.

Happy Anniversary! I really enjoyed the hangout. Very good points on sustainability, getting out of your office, and being effective. Also having a mindset of a communications pastor is a great way to look at our work. Thanks for being there!
