Pope Francis: Go to the Outskirts

Pope Francis: Go to the Outskirts

April 2, 2013 by

“We need to go out to the outskirts where there is suffering, bloodshed, blindness that longs for sight, and prisoners in thrall to many evil masters. It is not in soul-searching or constant introspection that we encounter the Lord.” –Pope Francis at a mass in St Peter’s Basilica on Maundy Thursday. It’s traditional for the pope to participate in a foot-washing ceremony on Maundy Thursday, but for the first time ever the ceremony included women and a Muslim. (The Telegraph).
