How to Get Involved

How to Get Involved

July 1, 2014 by

I routinely get emails as the executive director of the Center for Church Communication (CFCC) that sound the same. They go something like this:

“What you guys do is so important and what you provide is so valuable, how can I be involved?”

I love hearing this question (and the motivation behind it). We have a lot going on and can always use the help. Committed people is how we made it to 10 years, and it will get us through the next 10. I wanted to give you a couple of ways you can join the movement that we’ve started here:

Street Team
The street team is designed to be our eyes and ears on the ground. As church communication practitioners, you are the most in tune with the needs of the community. It is also designed to help spread the word to the community about new resources and events from CFCC.

If you’d like more information about the street team, check out the street team page on our website.

Church Marketing Lab
Feedback can make all the difference, which is why we started a group to share and critique church marketing materials. This group is hosted on Flickr and enables people to share their work, offer their feedback and improve church communication. It’s the power of the people, working for the church.

If you’d like to help your fellow communicators, drop by the Church Marketing Lab and add your designs as inspiration and leave some feedback for others.

Write for Church Marketing Sucks
Do you consider yourself a good writer? Do you have ideas that might frustrate, educate or motivate others in church communication? You might be just right to join our team of writers.

Check out our writer’s guidelines and if you think you are a good fit, submit a post. If you’d like to start out simpler, consider sharing your story for our Struggles & Victories series.

Join the Conversation
Share your thoughts in the comments on Church Marketing Sucks. The conversation continues on Twitter and Facebook. Subscribe via email or RSS to keep up and join the conversation.

Volunteer
We are always looking for amazing designers, web developers and thought leaders to join our volunteer team. If you are really good at what you do and would like to join the team, shoot me an email and we’ll discuss what it might look like to get you plugged in.

Give Money
We don’t hit this one very often because we are more about providing value to you than fundraising, but what we do around here costs money. We are fortunate to have amazing advertisers, sponsors, and underwriters who offset our operational costs and allow us to create awesome resources for our community. If you believe in what we do and would like to help underwrite our initiatives, I’d love to have that conversation with you. If you work at a church with some resources to spare (ha!) and would like to donate some of your communication ministry budget to equip other churches, your gifts are welcome here too!

Let’s Share the Greatest Story Ever Told
We love serving you, and we love helping you serve one another. As you can see, there are lots of places where you can join forces with us and help churches better communicate the most important story ever told.
