Church Comm Events in 2013

January 4, 2013 by

It’s always great to get out of the office and connect with other communicators. We’ve updated our Events Calendar with conferences and events throughout 2013. Check out what’s coming up and book your tickets.

Here’s a look at some of the major events of 2013:

Be sure to check the calendar for more. And if we’ve forgotten any events, be sure to let us know.

If staying in town is more your speed, don’t forget to check out the Local Labs to see if there’s a group meeting in your area (or start your own!).

Some of these conferences look fine, but a few are clearly terrible. The first two (C3 and Seeds) feature an all-male speakers panel; that’s inexcusable.

A conference that doesn’t include women has nothing to teach.

I didn’t think I would ever see “Anchorage, Alaska” on a Church Communications Events list. I am SO excited about this!

I will also be at Echo and perhaps Catalyst West Coast this year as well.

Hi, any chance of any of these being recorded and put on youtube or similar. Its good comms event going to Achorage, but I doubt you’d be coming to the UK. We also need help with our websites and social media interaction and ads.

Your events seem focused for under 40. I am 45 and in my denomination and my church…I am considered young. What do you have for us over 40’s that are trying to bring their churches into the present and wake them up. Looking for conferences on marketing, advertising, evangelism, etc.

    Susan,

I don’t think age should keep you from events like Echo, Story or Catalyst. Sure, they cater to a younger crowd, there are simply more of them in this market.

In fact, I think you could help bridge the gap perhaps between the generations. Creative Missions would be a great opportunity for that. Echo too, great community there.

Check out Chic Fil A’s leader cast, Leadership Summit and Q…those will definitely draw an older crowd. Q is excellent, one of my favorites and certainly deepest.

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. Just didn’t want to feel out of place. Also, wasn’t sure if it was what I was looking for. I don’t necessarily need to go to a conference where the focus is worshiping at the conference….just really want to gather info. I have been in church ministry for 16 years….so for me, time is an issue….need to get back to the church but also to my family. I just want to make sure my time will be well spent and get as much useful info as possible to come home and start making a difference. Again..thank you for the info!
