CFCC Heads to Worship Facilities Expo

November 2, 2011 by

Next week Justin Wise and I are headed to Dallas to be a part of the Worship Facilities Expo happening Nov. 9-11. We’ll be hosting the WFX Conference Hub and presenting a number of workshops throughout the conference on social media and best practices for church communication.

So what business do some church communications guys have at a church worship facilities expo? Great question. Increasingly, churches are discovering the connection between what happens in their services on Sunday mornings and the message they communicate throughout the week. And as churches use services like texting and Twitter in their worship services, more questions arise on how churches can use those mediums to communicate. So, we’ll be there to offer our insight and share examples of how churches are creating space, online and offline, to connect with their congregations.

We’re excited to be a part of WFX, as our parent organization—the Center for Church Communication—is a sponsor for the event. We’ll be live-streaming next Wednesday to Thursday, so be sure to tune in or follow @cmsucks for updates from WFX. If you are in or near Dallas, we’d love to see you. We have a limited number of passes to WFX that we’d love to get to you. Drop us a comment and we’ll get you the details.

I work in Carrollton, so this will be reasonably close to attend. We’re (finally) beginning to ask serious questions about why we’ve lost 30% of our members over the past 5 years. The best news is that our members are leading the charge. We need help. If you could spare a pass or two, I really would appreciate it!
