How Does Your Church Rank?

March 22, 2005 by

As many as 100 incognito church reviewers will descend on London churches on April 24. It’s part of the “Mystery Worshipper” series by online magazine ShipofFools.com.

Where would your church stand if judged by an anonymous visitor’s first impression?

One Response to “How Does Your Church Rank?”

I recently went to St Peter’s church in Kennington, S. London. I am not a believer but was enticed by a flyer promoting a talk by the Archbishop of Canterbury. My (Muslim) girlfriend came too.
When we arrived it became clear it wasn’t a talk, but a church service. We felt tricked. My girlfriend walked out.
Is this a legitimate church marketing strategy? Or, were we naive for not realising it would be a service?
